Preferring to be called by his last name, Andrew seemed destined never to not work for Novell.

He worked in Chicago for a year with Cambridge Technology Partners before returning to his native Australia in time to be bought out by Novell. After leaving Novell and Australia in 2003, he picked up a prized contract working for SuSE... just in time for them to be acquired by Novell.

Six years later Andrew defected, return to Melbourne and began working on Pacemaker and other cluster-related projects for Red Hat.

In late 2015, he moved on from the Pacemaker project as Grand Poobah Emeritus and is no longer actively involved with ClusterLabs.
